This is a plan for my travel guide. Each section consists of a list of possible information that is included. My guide is intended to give general information for people who may wish to quickly decide if a life in Portugal is for them. Therefore the information will range from the basic (average temperature, main airports etc) to the more detailed information that may start a conversation amongst families or potential movers. I will include QR codes that I will generate using QR code generator for people who wish to scan the information and find out more or watch videos on certain topics.

Work and unemployment in Portugal

Work in Portugal Working in Portugal is similar to having a job in England for example the shifts in Portugal tend to be 9am till 6pm Mondays to Friday this is your average work week. “The current minimum wage in Portugal is €740.80 per month (£646), which works out at €8,889.60 per year (£7,750).” The minimum wage in Portugal is based on a salary per month calculation. In 2019, employees on minimum wage who are paid 12 times a year can expect an hourly salary of €4.38." Education and higher education in Portugal Some of the top universities in Portugal are University of Lisbon (which specialises in arts and design, mining engineering and geography), Universidade NOVA de Lisboa (which specialises in FAME finance, accounting, management and economics), University of Coimbra (which specialise in STEM science, technology, engineering and maths as well as arts and humanities.) Most courses – especially at bachelor’s level are taught in Portuguese.
