September review

The start of my EPQ,

 My chosen topic will be: Portugal 

I'm excited to start delving further into my research of Portugal as before my project starts I already have a small knowledge of Portugal through YouTube and my parents plan and research into off-grid life in Portugal. For my project however I plan to go down a different route and look at life in Portugal, the culture, language, living costs, economy and anything of interest that I pass through the months I will be working on my EPQ. 

To start I made a mind map of the things I want to find out as well as the way I want to present it. I started my blogger and posted my first post about my plans for the EPQ project and what I want to get out of it once completed 

Coming to the end of September I have made a plan and my next step is to write aims and objectives to post to my blogger.

Work and unemployment in Portugal

Work in Portugal Working in Portugal is similar to having a job in England for example the shifts in Portugal tend to be 9am till 6pm Mondays to Friday this is your average work week. “The current minimum wage in Portugal is €740.80 per month (£646), which works out at €8,889.60 per year (£7,750).” The minimum wage in Portugal is based on a salary per month calculation. In 2019, employees on minimum wage who are paid 12 times a year can expect an hourly salary of €4.38." Education and higher education in Portugal

Education and higher education in Portugal Some of the top universities in Portugal are University of Lisbon (which specialises in arts and design, mining engineering and geography), Universidade NOVA de Lisboa (which specialises in FAME finance, accounting, management and economics), University of Coimbra (which specialise in STEM science, technology, engineering and maths as well as arts and humanities.) Most courses – especially at bachelor’s level are taught in Portuguese.
